Microsoft workers hiding their love for the iPhone

Gotta agree with this bit the most:
The way to get employees to use your own products, however, isn't by creating a culture of fear in the workplace, whether it's officially endorsed or not. Instead, build a better product that your employees actually want to use. If the only official way to convince workers to use your own phone OS instead of the iPhone is by reimbursing employees' service fees only for Windows phones, then how can you expect to attract more consumers to your brand?

I was at the MS campus last year and they definitely have a culture of fear. I mean even visitors were advised to stow iPhones and iPods and to remove any signs of competitors. I had a bag with a logo of a competitor and I was politely told to hide it.

This runs counter to the SOP of Microsoft. They gave up a decade ago on the whole idea of having the best product. Their entire business model is based on the idea of simply giving people no choice but to use their products.

Are you kidding me? There's no way Job's would allow that. He's a control freak from hell. One of the few areas I have always been in complete agreement with you on is that the world is a far better place for Apple having been marginalized and damn near killed in the 90's.
